Extraction, or pulling out a tooth is only used as a last resort when the tooth cannot be saved. So, we will take every precaution and try every other avenue FIRST before extracting your tooth. There's nothing better than having your own full set of teeth in your mouth, but when that is just not an option, thank goodness for modern dentistry!

In the past, root canals have had a bad reputation of being painful. In reality, most people say that the time spent worrying before the root canal is the most uncomfortable time. The procedure itself is no more uncomfortable than getting a tooth filled.

An impression will be taken of your upper and lower teeth.The lab will make whitening trays customized to your smile.
You will come in and will have the in office whitening gel placed in the trays.You will then have a seat in our reception area for 30 minutes.You will then return to a dental chair and have the gel rinsed off.You will be given the at home gels and will be instructed on how to use them.

Our qualified dental hygiene staff are here to answer any questions you may have, service you, and make your visit as pleasant as possible. Normally, during a hygiene visit, you will have x-rays taken so we can get an accurate assessment of what is needed to be done.  All of our xrays are digital which means for you and the environment.

Not everyone needs gum therapy, but if you do, we want you to know what to expect. But always remember, preventive medicine is the best medicine in this case. We recommend brushing your teeth 3x a day and flossing everyday.
 
The four traditional ways to treat gum disease is with deep cleaning under the gums, gum surgery, bone grafts, and antibiotics. Now, there is ultrasonic and laser cleaning. At Gentle Dentistry we use ultrasonic deep cleaning or scaling.
 

Nowadays, patients have the option of having white composite fillings as opposed to metal amalgam fillings. Your dentist should inform you of the availability of the white composite filling. If he/she doesn’t, the dentist has not performed his or her legal duty.
 
At Gentle Dentistry, we do not use amalgam fillings. We use strictly white composite fillings.
